Welcome to SOSitter. These Terms of Service govern your access to and use of the SOSitter mobile application, website, and related services. By creating an account, accessing, or using SOSitter, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the platform.
SOSitter is an online platform that connects families and individuals seeking care services with independent caregivers who provide child care, pet care, and senior companion care. SOSitter does not employ caregivers. All caregivers on the platform are independent individuals who offer their services directly to care seekers. SOSitter provides the technology and tools to facilitate these connections but is not a party to any service arrangement made between a care seeker and a caregiver.
SOSitter does not independently vet or verify every caregiver on the platform.
SOSitter grants you a personal, revocable, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the SOSitter app and platform solely for your personal, non-commercial use in accordance with these Terms. This license does not permit you to modify, copy, distribute, reverse engineer, or create derivative works from any SOSitter content or technology. This license is revocable at any time if you violate these Terms.

By creating an account, you certify that the information you provide is truthful and lawful. SOSitter reserves the right to suspend any account that poses safety concerns. SOSitter may also verify eligibility at any time and deny or revoke access to any user who does not meet these requirements.
You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account. You agree to notify SOSitter immediately at hello@sositter.com if you suspect unauthorized access to your account. SOSitter is not liable for any loss or damage resulting from your failure to protect your account information. You may not share your account with any other person or use another user’s account without permission.
SOSitter provides the following services to registered users:
SOSitter reserves the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue any feature or aspect of the platform at any time. SOSitter does not guarantee the availability of any specific caregiver, the quality of services provided, or the accuracy of information submitted by users.
Care seekers are responsible for independently evaluating caregivers before booking services. Any badges, verification indicators, or profile labels displayed in the SOSitter app are informational only and are not guarantees of safety, trustworthiness, or service quality. A caregiver’s choice not to complete a background check does not automatically indicate risk or disqualification.
SOSitter’s services are limited to facilitating connections and do not include the direct delivery of care services.
Caregivers on SOSitter are independent service providers, not employees, agents, or contractors of SOSitter. SOSitter does not control or direct how caregivers perform their services, set their rates, or manage their schedules. SOSitter does not supervise, monitor, or control caregiver conduct. Care seekers are responsible for evaluating caregivers, conducting their own due diligence, and making their own decisions about whether to engage a particular caregiver. SOSitter is not responsible for screening decisions made by care seekers. Any arrangement made between a care seeker and a caregiver is solely between those two parties. Care seekers are responsible for compliance with all applicable employment and tax laws if they establish an employment relationship with a caregiver.
Background checks on SOSitter are optional unless otherwise stated. SOSitter does not require caregivers to submit to a background screening as a condition of joining or using the platform, and SOSitter does not guarantee that any caregiver has been screened unless their profile explicitly displays a verification indicator confirming a completed screening.
Care seekers may request a background check directly from a caregiver at any time during their evaluation process. SOSitter may facilitate access to third-party screening providers as a convenience, but the decision to obtain a screening rests with the care seeker and the caregiver. Background check reports are produced by third-party consumer reporting agencies. SOSitter does not guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or timeliness of any report.
SOSitter does not independently verify criminal history, education, certifications, licenses, identity, or work experience unless specifically stated on the caregiver’s profile. A background check result, if obtained, does not constitute an endorsement, recommendation, or guarantee by SOSitter. Care seekers remain solely responsible for interviewing caregivers, verifying identity, checking references, assessing qualifications, and determining suitability before booking any service.
A caregiver’s choice not to complete a background check does not automatically indicate risk or disqualification.

SOSitter reserves the right to remove any content or suspend any account that violates these conduct standards, without prior notice.
SOSitter allows both care seekers and caregivers to leave ratings and written reviews following a completed booking. Reviews must be based on personal experience and compliant with these Terms. SOSitter does not edit reviews but reserves the right to remove reviews that contain false statements, discriminatory language, personal attacks, or other content that violates platform policies. SOSitter does not guarantee the accuracy of any review posted on the platform.
10.1 Subscription Plans
SOSitter offers subscription plans for care seekers, billed on a monthly, quarterly, or annual basis. All fees are displayed clearly before purchase. SOSitter reserves the right to modify subscription pricing with reasonable advance notice.

10.2 Automatic Renewal
YOUR SUBSCRIPTION AUTOMATICALLY RENEWS AT THE END OF EACH BILLING PERIOD AT THE THEN-CURRENT RATE UNLESS YOU CANCEL IN ADVANCE THROUGH YOUR ACCOUNT SETTINGS OR BY EMAILING HELLO@SOSITTER.COM. You authorize SOSitter to charge your payment method at the start of each billing cycle. You are responsible for ensuring your payment information remains accurate and current.
10.3 Cancellation
You may cancel your subscription at any time through your account settings. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period. You will retain full access to the platform through the end of the period you have already paid for.
10.4 Refund Policy
Subscription fees are non-refundable except in the following circumstances:
SOSitter does not provide refunds for partial subscription periods, unused time remaining after cancellation, or dissatisfaction with caregiver services arranged through the platform. To request a refund under the above exceptions, contact hello@sositter.com within 14 days of the charge in question. SOSitter will review the request and respond within 10 business days.
10.5 Free Trial Promotions
SOSitter may offer limited-time free trial memberships from time to time. Free trials that are not canceled before the designated trial period ends will automatically convert to a paid subscription at the applicable rate.
10.6 Caregiver Accounts
Caregiver accounts on SOSitter are free to create and maintain. SOSitter does not charge caregivers a fee to join the platform or receive booking requests.
10.7 Billing Disputes
If you believe you have been charged in error, contact SOSitter at hello@sositter.com before initiating a chargeback with your bank or card issuer. Initiating a chargeback without first contacting SOSitter may result in account suspension pending review.
All content on the SOSitter platform, including the SOSitter name, logo, app design, written content, and proprietary technology, is owned by or licensed to SOSitter and is protected by applicable intellectual property laws. You may not copy, reproduce, distribute, modify, or create derivative works from any SOSitter content without prior written permission. By submitting content to the platform, including profile information, reviews, and messages, you grant SOSitter a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide license to use, display, and distribute that content in connection with operating and promoting the platform.
The SOSitter platform may contain links to third-party websites or services for your convenience. SOSitter does not control, endorse, or assume responsibility for the content, privacy practices, or availability of any third-party site. Your use of any external link is at your own discretion and risk. We encourage you to review the terms and privacy policies of any third-party site you visit.
SOSitter’s collection, use, and protection of your personal information is governed by our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms by reference. By using SOSitter, you agree to the data practices described in the Privacy Policy.
SOSitter provides its services on an as-is and as-available basis without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied. SOSitter does not warrant that the platform will be uninterrupted or error-free, that caregivers will meet your specific needs, that background check results, where obtained, will reflect all relevant history, or that user-submitted information is accurate or complete. SOSitter expressly disclaims all warranties, including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement, to the fullest extent permitted by applicable law.
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, SOSitter, its officers, directors, employees, and agents shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the platform, including harm arising from a care arrangement made through the platform, unauthorized access to your information, content posted by other users, or any interruption or failure of the platform. SOSitter’s total liability to you for any claim arising out of these Terms or your use of the platform shall not exceed the amount you paid to SOSitter in the three months preceding the claim.
You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless SOSitter and its officers, directors, employees, and agents from and against any claims, damages, losses, liabilities, costs, and expenses, including reasonable legal fees, arising from your use of the platform, your violation of these Terms, your violation of applicable law, or any claim by a third party arising from a care arrangement you made through the platform.
SOSitter is not responsible for the conduct of any user on or off the platform. You release SOSitter from all claims and damages arising from disputes between care seekers and caregivers or from harm caused by another user. Care arrangements involve real-world interactions between individuals, and SOSitter cannot guarantee the safety, conduct, or performance of any party.
SOSitter may suspend or permanently terminate your account at any time for violation of these Terms, submission of false or fraudulent information, failure to cooperate with eligibility verification, conduct that poses a risk to the safety of other users, or any activity SOSitter reasonably determines to be harmful to the platform or its community. Upon termination, your access to the platform will be revoked immediately. Subscription fees paid prior to a termination resulting from a Terms violation are non-refundable.
PLEASE READ THIS SECTION CAREFULLY. IT AFFECTS YOUR LEGAL RIGHTS.
Any dispute arising out of or relating to these Terms or your use of SOSitter that cannot be resolved informally will be resolved through binding individual arbitration administered by the American Arbitration Association under its Consumer Arbitration Rules. The arbitration will be conducted on an individual basis. You waive any right to participate in a class action lawsuit or class-wide arbitration against SOSitter.
You may opt out of this arbitration agreement by sending written notice to hello@sositter.com within 30 days of first creating your SOSitter account. Your notice must include your full name, account email address, and a clear statement that you are opting out of the arbitration agreement. If you opt out, disputes will be resolved in the courts described in Section 20.
Nothing in this section prevents either party from seeking emergency injunctive or other equitable relief in a court of competent jurisdiction, or from bringing a qualifying claim in small claims court on an individual basis.
These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Michigan, United States. Any disputes not subject to arbitration shall be resolved in the state or federal courts located in Michigan, and you consent to personal jurisdiction in those courts.
By creating an account on SOSitter, you consent to receive electronic communications from SOSitter, including account notifications, booking confirmations, and legal notices. You may opt out of promotional communications through your account settings or by following the unsubscribe instructions in any email. Transactional and legal communications are not subject to opt-out.
SOSitter may update these Terms of Service at any time. When material changes are made, we will notify you by email or through an in-app notification at least 14 days before the changes take effect. Your continued use of SOSitter after the effective date of any changes constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms. Non-material changes or clarifications take effect immediately upon posting.
SOSitter is not liable for any failure or delay in performance resulting from causes beyond its reasonable control, including natural disasters, acts of government, power outages, internet failures, or other events outside SOSitter’s control.
The section headings in these Terms are for convenience only and have no legal or contractual effect. SOSitter’s failure to enforce any provision of these Terms does not constitute a waiver of that provision. These Terms, together with SOSitter’s Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and SOSitter regarding your use of the platform and supersede all prior agreements or understandings on this subject.
If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable or invalid by a court of competent jurisdiction, that provision will be modified to the minimum extent necessary to make it enforceable, and the remaining provisions will continue in full force and effect.
